Every year hundreds of motorcyclists gather to participate in the activities organized by motorcycle clubs we sponsor. The dealership is also heavily involved with the "Ride for Kids," an annual event directed to raise funds for Pediatric Brain Tumor. |
The following was extracted from Dealer News Magazine (10/97). A little piece of history that shows Bob Logue's continued commitment to the motorcycle industry and his love for motorcycles.
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times," it is how the Dickens’s classic "A Tale of Two Cities" opens. While Bob Logue Motor Sports may not be located in the twin cities, he can still relate." On January 19th, 1996, the dealership had between 8" and 12" of water on the floors and "the people around us did not fare as well," remembers Bob Logue. "We used the opportunity to remodel while things were in disarray. While it is hard to put numbers to increased business as a result of remodeling, we all feel a renewed sense of pride on our facility." The renewed pride and a banner sales year haven't lured Bob and his crew into a false sense of complacency, however. "As we enter our 18th year of business, it is more obvious than ever before that you'd better love motorcycles in addition to being able to forecast trends and manage overhead to survive." Nine years later Bob Logue's commitment to Honda persists and we are having more fun at it than ever before!

Pictured here from left to right, Don Chamberland, Mo Poston, Brian Slark, Bob Logue and George Barber. George Barber raced, modified, and maintained Porsches in the 1960's (63 first-place wins). He started collecting and restoring classic sports cars in 1989, but his interest soon turned to motorcycles. Mr. Barber recognized that there was not a museum which reflected the history of motorcycles around the world. He wanted to preserve motorcycle history in the United States in a way that represents an international aspect and to supply an example of motorcycles that until then could only have been seen in books and magazines. This was the theme used in the development of the Barber collection. An interesting aspect of the collection is that restorations are done in-house. Out of the same shop a vintage motorcycle race team operated with the challenge of maintaining and racing historically significant machinery. These bikes were routinely campaigned around the United States so that they could be enjoyed and appreciated in their original setting, rather than collecting dust in a garage. The Barber Vintage Motorcycle Team has won seven national championships.

Pictured here is Bob Logue (left) with designer, inventor, lecturer and writer, Craig Vetter. Vetter, who was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 1999, founded the Vetter Corporation, a company that became famous for its touring and sport fairings for motorcycles. Through decades of serious dedication, commitment and appreciation to the accomplishments of founder Soichiro Honda, paired with an insatiable desire to learn about the intricacies of engineering and design by the world’s leader, has made Bob Logue an authority on Honda motorcycles. |
